Li-Po battery 5000+ mAh models

A lithium polymer is technically a Li-Po battery. It is very similar to the lithium ion battery but without some of the shortcomings.

It can sustain a significant amount of abuse. For example a fully charged Li-Po battery can be punctured with a nail without explosion or fire. It originally used a plastic anode material and SPE (Solid Polymer Electrolyte) as the electrolyte. This comparatively new technology is rapidly evolving and improving. Currently we use a gelled electrolyte and separator. The data below is based on the current technology at the time of publication.

High Energy Density Li-Po Battery 5000+ mAh
For their weight, Li-Po battery are capable of storing a proportionately high amount of energy compared to older technologies such as those found in NiCd and NiMH battery. In many cases, they offer over 4 times the energy capacity for the weight.

Flat Voltage Curve Li-Po Battery 5000+ mAh
Li-Po cells are fully charged at 4.2 volts and are considered fully discharged at 3.0 volts. This allows for a relatively flat voltage discharge curve, providing solid performance throughout the discharge cycle. It can meet more than 500pcs cycles.

No Memory Effect Li-Po Battery 5000+ mAh
Li-Po battery do not develop a memory effect from being only partially discharged and then charged again (such as that experienced by NiCd cells). The cells may be partially charged and discharged without damaging their performance so long as they are kept within their normal operating voltage parameters.

Low Self Discharge Li-Po Battery 5000+ mAh
Unlike NiMH and NiCd batteries, Li-Po battery experience a very low rate of self-discharge when not in use. Li-Po battery experience a self-discharge rate of approximately 5% per month, compared with over 30% per month and 20% per month in NiHM batteries and NiCd batteries respectively. This means that users can now fully charge their Li-Po battery one day and then use them weeks later, at which time they will still have nearly a full charge.
